Suicide
Hands that once worked
Alongside mine, busy with life,
Lay still now, bloodstained.
I hear you gasp for breath,
Your heart beat slowing
With each beat pumping
Your precious life blood.
I try to stem your bleeding,
Cover your wrists with my fingers
And grip tightly,
Willing life back into your veins.
Eyes flutter open, closed,
Lock onto mine.
I press my lips to your forehead,
You shake your head and then lie still.
My screams echo off the sky,
But you are gone.
