Memory Jar
I’ll save your dreams,
here in this jar,
and screw the lid on tight.
I'll hide it away,
high on a shelf,
away from all the light.
I'll take it out
when I get lonely,
and sit and remember you.
I'll sift through each
and every memory,
good ones, and bad ones too.
I am not afraid
to think about,
the things I cannot change.
I’m not afraid to
remember you,
and how we danced in the rain.
And when I’m done,
remembering you,
I’ll lock your dreams away.
To lie in wait
for the next time I long
to remember you this way.
