Plaything
Pretty little marionette,
rosy-cheeked paper doll.
She is nothing but your plaything.
Like a yo-yo
you string her out,
yank her back
if she wanders too far from your reach.
Make her lists,
what to do, when to do it.
Don’t go there,
stay here with me,
don’t talk to them.
She’s just your status-symbol,
the most expensive charm
upon your bracelet.
She is nothing but your toy
and yet she comes back for more.
